Encrypted group calls are now available in the workplace with the secure messaging app Threema Work.
A call can be more effective than a message when it comes to urgent work issues, even though email, collaboration tools, and instant messengers have long been part of our normal communication routine. Individual and group calls allow you to quickly discuss urgent issues with one or more parties, for example, or to update a project team on the latest developments while on the road. However, in a business environment, it's best to use secure solutions and make group calls using trusted applications such as Threema Work, which provides a secure instant messaging solution that meets the requirements of GDPR and NIS2.
Individual calls have been available in Threema Work for some time now. They are end-to-end encrypted and don't require a phone number or SIM card. And with the latest update to Threema Work, users can now make encrypted E2E group calls or video calls on Android devices.

Threema Work, a secure messaging app
Unlike other messengers, communication through Threema Work (whether via text messages, audio, video, or group calls) is always encrypted with E2E encryption, making it particularly suitable for business communication. With the latest update for Android devices, the same protocol is used for group calls of up to 16 people. Just like individual calls, group calls are end-to-end encrypted, meet the highest levels of security, and offer the same crystal-clear voice and video quality you're used to.
According to the Threema Work team, this update, which will soon be available for iOS, is "especially practical for quick meetings in a professional environment, without compromising security and privacy.".
